Aww thank you so much for the kind words. I agree with you completely while my skin tone is not as deep as Gabielle Union’s (who is beautiful by the way) it was still a struggle for me to find lip colors and blushes that really complemented my skin tone when I first began wearing makeup.

So to begin with:

Are you cool or warm?

Cool toned WOC can stick to pinkish lip glosses and blushes

While warmed toned WOC generally stick to golden based lip colors or blushes.

Are your lips two toned?

Are they different colors, overly pigmented, if they are use a lip primer or concealer.

Don’t like ashy looking lips?

I know you have seen the women who look like they have just eaten a powered donut when they wear nude lips and you do not want to be one of those women. To avoid this I would wear a liner.

Also I would recommend using a lipstick because most of the time they are much more pigmented and the thickness can be sheered out with clear gloss if you choose.
